WorldCup long chasing start (28/05/2017)

World Cup long chasing start.

Was pretty fired up at the start after yesterdays poor run.

Started hard and picked off people. Had caught maybe 4 people in front by 3 and then another group by 4. Should have run straighter to 1, but I like to play it a bit safe at the start, and the guy I was chasing also went that way.

In big group on first butterfly. Little miss into control and Mattias Kyburtz (on later gaffle) caught me, tried to hold on but he had maybe a 10sec gap by 8. So fast!

Then was in a group of maybe 15 so just sat in it then realised that none of them going to my gaffe. Result bananed 9 a bit too much but was ok. Very pleased with my compasswork back to the middle control ;)

Towards 15 was able to latch onto a group of Lauri Sild, Jonny Crickmore and Peter Hodkinson. We ran steadily to 16 but the slowish pace was ok for me as I started very hard.

Poor direction out of 17 and then tried to take the lead and start dropping my group. missed ride into 21 and then ran quite hard up the hill to 22. Result was I was destroyed at the top and got caught again and finally outsprinted by the 3 into the finish. Still pretty pleased with the race having climbed quite a few places.
