NC Long Ofestivalen (24.06.2017)

NC Longdistance Ofestivalen.

Felt a bit tired and heavy (long car drive + tough work week straight after Jukola).

Was OK at the start, almost missed 1 but just saw it to the left. Not that pleased with 6, sa the leg and was quite scared about attacking the control. Decided to follow the stream, but spent too much time looking at the control and my routechoice in the first half was poor. Following the stream was scary, disappeared several times+rocks everywhere. Finally managed to recognize the spur and knolls before the control.

Got caught by Torgier at 8 and struggled to keep up to 9. Norwegians run so fast in this rocky terrain. At 13 we caught Bjørn and made a small mistake. I was just hanging at this point, I couldn’t run downhill at those speeds and read the map. On the way to 15 I felt like I had contact and that the others were too high, saw Ivar up there as well, so decided I must be too low. Then we made a 1.45 mistake together.

Rest of race was high speed pack running.

Felt I was going quite well before I got caught, maybe If I was alone I wouldn’t have made those mistakes on 13 and 15, but I would have been running slower. So probably evened itself out haha.
